Throughout my transition from conception through childbirth to parenthood, reproductive curiosities festered and quickly converted into full-blown commitment and lifestyle. There are an abundance of statistics affirming that doula-involved births are proven to result in less need for major labor interventions, increases chance of natural birth (if that’s what’s desired), improves general health outcomes, and fosters a healthier start to parentage—and that’s what drove me to pursue this empowering journey.
here are a few quick things that sum up my multi-hyphenate lifestyle:
mommy to a spitting image of myself
full-spectrum doula
retired collegiate athlete that dabbles in co-ed play
book nerd (I’ve added a few of my favorite birth-related books below)
the stereotypical coffee shop “regular”
the friend that insist on walking everyone because it’s “only around the corner”
I’m here to support, remain forever curious, and foster environments that contribute to experiences remembered with satisfaction and fulfillment.
doula [ energy ] Why the name?
Well, I won’t lie. Sometimes I feel like it gives Xcel Energy vibes (I don’t love that) but my marketing brain told me to pick something that’s easy to remember (let’s face it, you’re likely tackling the onset of “mom brain” while simultaneously vetting the group you want to share an intimate and vulnerable space with, which is consuuuming). And, most importantly, it made so much sense when considering what I feel makes for an incredible difference in birth work: the energy you bring to the room.
What about proceeds ($$$)?
My Mini It all started with that little girl, so a portion of all proceeds will be locked away for her benefit.
Community Involvement On an annual basis, those who’ve contributed via doula service investments or crowdfunding will receive a poll of selected fundraisers to vote on, in which one will receive a donation.
Oui, did I mention that I love to read?
